Scenic Park Avenue Tour and Lunch
Saturday, March 2
8:40am – 3:00pm
Meet at the front of the Waldorf at 8:40am for departure at 8:50am:
The Tour Bus Pick-Up is the outer bus lane on the front drive of the Waldorf — the blue bus icon on the Resort Map.
You can still sign up for this event; call Karen at (239) 248-0028 to register!
Approximately 20 minutes northeast of downtown Orlando, Winter Park gained its name after the arrival of the South Florida Railroad in 1880. The highly rated Rollins College — Florida’s first four-year university — opened shortly thereafter, heralding the city’s refined future. Today, Winter Park’s epicenter is Park Avenue, a tree-lined, cobblestoned street bursting with acclaimed eateries, museums and some of the Orlando area’s best shopping.
Your tour includes a relaxing, 1-hour scenic, open-air boat ride past Rollins College and luxurious homes along three beautiful lakes and canals, followed by lunch at one of Winter Park’s signature restaurants, 310 Park South.
After lunch, there will be plenty of time to:
- Visit the Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art, internationally renowned for the World’s Largest Tiffany Glass Collection;
- Browse the exclusive boutiques and art galleries filled with one-of-a-kind treasures, as well as stores bearing the names of your favorite designers;
- Take a break at one of the Avenue’s open-air cafes;
- Or just sit in Winter Park’s own Central Park and people watch.
Your $175 excursion includes transportation to and from Winter Park, the boat tour, lunch, and admission to the Morse Museum (optional); it will last from approximately 9am – 3pm.
