NAPLES, FL. -- The Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association reported that its September 2009 Booked Orders Index was 118. Index in September is up 17 points or 16% from August 2009's Index of 101 (1990=100). The September 2009 Index represents a decrease of 17% from the September 2008 Index of 141.
September Booked Orders Indexes were 178 for Bulk Handling Equipment* and 97 for Unit Handling Equipment*(1990=100).
The Twelve-Month Index for Booked Orders was 106 in September. Index in September represents a decrease of 2% from August 2009's Twelve-Month Index of 108.
The CEMA Billed Sales (shipments) Index was 110 in September. Index in September is up 5 points or 4% from August 2009's Index of 105. The September 2009 Index represents a decrease of 30% from the September 2008 Index of 157.
September Billed Sales Indexes were 186 for Bulk Handling Equipment* and 93 for Unit Handling Equipment*(1990=100).
The Twelve-Month Index for Billed Sales was 122 in September.
Index in September represents a decrease of 4% from August 2009's Twelve-Month
Index of 126.
* Since Bulk Handling Systems booked and billed sales are reported quarterly
and are averaged back to the two preceding months, the booked and billed indexes
for non-quarter ending months for Bulk Handling Equipment and Category X, total
of all categories, are adjusted quarterly.
