Monthly Statistics Report News Release

NAPLES, FL. -- The Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association reported that its October 2011 Booked Orders Index was 235. Index in October is up 17 points or 8% from September 2011's Index of 218 (1990=100). The October 2011 Index represents an increase of 103% from the October 2010 Index of 116.

October Booked Orders Indexes were 279 for Bulk Handling Equipment* and 227 for Unit
Handling Equipment*(1990=100).

The Twelve-Month Index for Booked Orders was 176 in October. Index in October represents an increase of 6% from September 2011's Twelve-Month Index of 166.

The CEMA Billed Sales (shipments) Index was 179 in October. Index in October represents a decrease of 3% from September 2011's Index of 184. The October 2011 Index represents an increase of 26% from the October 2010 Index of 142.

October Billed Sales Indexes were 294 for Bulk Handling Equipment* and 155 for Unit Handling Equipment*(1990=100).

The Twelve-Month Index for Billed Sales was 162 in October. Index in October represents an increase of 2% from Sepember 2011's Twelve-Month Index of 159.


* Since Bulk Handling Systems booked and billed sales are reported quarterly and are averaged back to the two preceding months, the booked and billed indexes for non-quarter ending months for Bulk Handling Equipment and Category X, the total of all categories, are adjusted quarterly.
