Monthly Statistics Report News Release

June, 2009

NAPLES, FL. -- The Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association reported that its June 2009 Booked Orders Index was 110 no change from May 2009's Index of 110 (1990=100). The June 2009 Index represents a decrease of 37% from the June 2008 Index of 175.

June Booked Orders Indexes were 187 for Bulk Handling Equipment* and 83 for Unit Handling Equipment*(1990=100).

The Twelve-Month Index for Booked Orders was 112 in June. Index in June represents a decrease of 4% from May 2009's Twelve-Month Index of 117.

The CEMA Billed Sales (shipments) Index was 123 in June. Index in June is up 13 points or 12% from May 2009's Index of 110. The June 2009 Index represents a decrease of 20% from the June 2008 Index of 154.

June Billed Sales Indexes were 215 for Bulk Handling Equipment* and 99 for Unit Handling Equipment*(1990=100).

The Twelve-Month Index for Billed Sales was 133 in June. Index in June represents a decrease of 2% from May 2009's Twelve-Month Index of 136.


* Since Bulk Handling Systems booked and billed sales are reported quarterly and are averaged back to the two preceding months, the booked and billed indexes for non-quarter ending months for Bulk Handling Equipment and Category X, total of all categories, are adjusted quarterly.
