NAPLES, FL. -- The Conveyor
Equipment Manufacturers Association reported that its January 2010 Booked Orders
Index was 99. Index in January is down 7 points or 7% from December 2009's Index
of 106 (1990=100). The January 2010 Index represents an increase of 1% from the
January 2009 Index of 98.
January Booked Orders Indexes were 176 for Bulk Handling Equipment* and 72 for Unit Handling Equipment*(1990=100).
The Twelve-Month Index for Booked Orders was 107 in January. Index in January represents no change from December 2009's Twelve-Month Index of 107.
The CEMA Billed Sales (shipments) Index was 94 in January. Index in January is down 12 points or 11% from December 2009's Index of 106. The January 2010 Index represents a decrease of 20% from the January 2009 Index of 117.
January Billed Sales Indexes were 168 for Bulk Handling Equipment* and 75 for Unit Handling Equipment*(1990=100).
The Twelve-Month Index for Billed Sales was 111 in January. Index in January represents a decrease of 2% from December 2009's Twelve-Month Index of 113.
* Since Bulk Handling Systems booked and billed sales are reported quarterly, they are averaged back to the two preceding months to enable a running monthly index.
