NAPLES, FL. -- The Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association reported that its August 2010 Booked Orders Index was 126. Index in August is down 5 points or 4% from July 2010's Index of 131 (1990=100). The August 2010 Index represents an increase of 25% from the August 2009 Index of 101.
August Booked Orders Indexes were 224 for Bulk Handling Equipment* and 92 for
Unit
Handling Equipment*(1990=100).
The Twelve-Month Index for Booked Orders was 123 in August. Index in August represents an increase of 3% from July 2010's Twelve-Month Index of 120.
The CEMA Billed Sales (shipments) Index was 161 in August. Index in August represents an increase of 13% from July 2010's Index of 142. The August 2010 Index represents an increase of 55% from the August 2009 Index of 104.
August Billed Sales Indexes were 219 for Bulk Handling Equipment* and 157 for Unit Handling Equipment*(1990=100).
The
Twelve-Month Index for Billed Sales was 118 in August. Index in August represents
an increase of 4% from July 2010's Twelve-Month Index of 113.
* Since Bulk Handling Systems booked and billed sales are reported quarterly and
are averaged back to the two preceding months, the booked and billed indexes for
non-quarter ending months for Bulk Handling Equipment and Category X, total of
all categories, are adjusted quarterly.
