NAPLES, FL. -- The Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association reported that its April 2010 Booked Orders Index was 126. Index in April is down 7 points or 5% from March 2010's Index of 133 (1990=100). The April 2010 Index represents an increase of 20% from the March 2009 Index of 105.
April Booked Orders Indexes were 208 for Bulk Handling Equipment* and 98 for Unit Handling Equipment*(1990=100).
The Twelve-Month Index for Booked Orders was 110 in April. Index in April represents an increase of 2% from March 2010's Twelve-Month Index of 108.
The CEMA Billed Sales (shipments) Index was 114 in April. Index in April represents no change from March 2010's Index of 114. The April 2010 Index represents a decrease of 1% from the April 2009 Index of 115.
April Billed Sales Indexes were 208 for Bulk Handling Equipment* and 90 for Unit Handling Equipment*(1990=100).
The Twelve-Month Index for Billed Sales was 109 in April. Index in April represents
no change from March 2010's Twelve-Month Index of 109.

Since Bulk Handling Systems booked and billed sales are reported quarterly and
are averaged back to the two preceding months, the booked and billed indexes for
non-quarter ending months for Bulk Handling Equipment and Category X, total of
all categories, are adjusted quarterly.
