This is the Final Reminder for reservations for the 95th CEMA Engineering Conference which will meet In-Person at the LaPlaya Beach & Golf Resort, Naples, Florida, June 12-15, 2022.
Manufacturing Member and Conveyor Systems Integrator Member dues are discounted 25%, and Technical Member dues are discounted 5% for participating in a minimum of one CEMA meeting per year.
Be sure to register by May 6, 2022, to take advantage of the Early Bird Registration Fee and save $100! Additional company representatives can save another $50. Please refer to the registration form.
Each representative needs to complete a registration form.
In order for Spouses/Guests/Children to participate in the meal events, THEY MUST BE REGISTERED.
The cut-off date for hotel reservations is May 13, 2022. CEMA will make your hotel reservation. Please note that you must cancel hotel reservations seven (7) days prior to your arrival date to avoid a one night room charge!
The hotel room rate is $204 per night for single or double occupancy. Any additional person above two people in a guest room, is $30 per night. Children under 18 years of age are complimentary.
If you would like to guarantee a Gulf View room, the upgrade charges are as follows:
Beachfront – $120
Premium Beachfront – $180
Beach House, Lanai Partial View – $220
Beach House, Beachfront Lanai – on going online rate (no discount)
These charges are additional to the nightly group rate of $204 plus tax per night. Otherwise, you can put in a request and take your chances at Check-In.
The resort fee has been reduced to $5.00 per room per night plus tax (from $39.00) and includes: complimentary in-room and public space high-speed Wi-Fi up to five Mbps, local calls, 800 long distance calls, information calls, newspapers, in-room coffee, beach chairs, beach towels, beach umbrellas, beach service and access to the fitness center and fitness classes (excluding yoga).
Valet parking is $5.00 per night, including tax. There is no Self-parking.
The registration fees will be as follows: Early Registration by May 6th: $875.00 for the first company representative and $825.00 for additional company representatives. Registrations received after May 6th: $975.00 for the first company representative and $925.00 for additional company representatives. The fee for spouses/guests/children 18 and older will be $500. For children under age 12 – $100. For children ages 12-17 – $425.
The Registration Fee does not include payment for your hotel room.
Instead of a speaker on Monday morning, the time will be utilized for participants to work on technical, mechanical, and standardization issues affecting the industry. All attendees will be provided a Certificate of Attendance, along with the topics worked on, that they can submit for educational credit to their certifying organizations as proof of continuing professional education.

CEMA Engineering Conference 2022
Engineering Conference Chairs:

-Purpose: To meet as a group to represent conveyor related companies from an engineering standpoint. Discussion on areas of safety, engineering
calculations, definitions, and standards as it relates to CEMA. Individuals will also be able to network with others during dinners and events.
-Value: Companies will be able to take away standards for safety and engineering to utilize in their business. The discussions in meetings will provoke thought and allow participants to build relationships with others in the organization as colleagues that work together to move CEMA forward.
Conveyor Safety Committee
Chair: Dan Modzeleski, Dematic Corp.
Vice-Chair, Bulk: Todd Swinderman, RTodds Engineering LLC
Vice-Chair, Unit: Troy Uahinui, Honeywell Intelligrated
-Purpose: Provide an open forum to discuss safety topics posed by members and work towards consensus solutions to those issues.
-Value: Develop CEMA best practices, safety guidelines, and warning programs for the material handling industry.
Bulk Handling Section
Chair: Jeff Ellis, Precision Pulley & Idler (PPI)
Vice-Chair: Vacant
-Purpose: For the committee chairs to provide a summary of the activities each Bulk Material Handling Committee is working on. ARPM presents their annual report to CEMA at this meeting.
-Value: For you to determine which Bulk Material Handling Meetings you want to attend.
Unit Handling Section
Chair: Rodney Mishmash, INTERROLL
Vice-Chair: Tamara Thimmel, Bryant Products Inc.
-Purpose: Provide the most current discussions on the CEMA Safety Video and the new Unit Handling 2nd ed. Book, along with additional industry
related topics for the portion of the industry.
-Value: The development of standards, technical reports, addressing topics that are affecting this portion of the industry.
Screw Conveyor Committee
Chair: Steve Boudreau, Screw Conveyor Corporation
Vice-Chair: Jacob Rider, KWS Manufacturing Company, LTD.
-Purpose: Provide the most current up to date information for the industry through their standards, technical reports, best practices, and address any
current industry needs.
-Value: Actively working on industry standards (i.e. 300, 350, etc.), technical reports, best practices, and bringing value to the screw conveyor industry through their engineering efforts.
Conveyor Idler Committee
Chair: Paul Schmidgall, Superior Industries, Inc.
Vice-Chair: Dr. Andrew Hustrulid, Shaw Almex Industries Ltd.
-Purpose: Develop, maintain, and provide safety information for CEMA Idlers and the development of the CEMA Idler Standards. Provide uniform industry standards for system design groups and the owners/operators of the belt conveyor systems.
-Value: Provide your company’s input through development and modification of Idler products to ensure unity within the industry.
Bucket Elevator Committee
Chair: Trevin Berger, Martin Sprocket & Gear, Inc.
Vice-Chair: Hani Almoghrabi, NORD Drivesystems
-Purpose: Develop industry standards for bucket elevator design, installation and operation, and additionally provide the industry with technical information related to the design and application of bucket elevators with the intent of generating a CEMA standard and/or Best Practices within the industry.
-Value: Involvement in the development of a publication that has not been updated in the industry dating back to the 1940’s. The value in this development of design, safety and technical information will bring continuity to the Bucket Elevator industry.
Conveyor Pulley Committee
Chair: Benjamin Brewer, Douglas Manufacturing Co., Inc.
Vice-Chair: Jeff Ellis, Precision Pulley & Idler (PPI)
-Purpose: Review, revise, update, establish standards and product safety that assist member companies and/or users to accurately select/evaluate
pulleys for their application.
-Value: Enable the user to establish accurate criteria for selection and application of the product.
Bulk Conveyor Accessories Committee
Chair: Lee Williams, ASGCO “Complete Conveyor Solutions”
Vice-Chair: Geoff Stoll, Richwood
-Purpose: Provide the most current standards available for bulk handling manufacturers by standardizing and describing the operation and construction of the devices.
-Value: Be involved in working on industry standards and bringing value to the accessory industry through engineering efforts and knowledge.
Conveyor Chain and Sprocket Committee
Chair: Roger Bruere, 4B Components, Ltd.
Vice-Chair: Brian Cline, Webster Industries, Inc.
-Purpose: Provide the most current chain and sprocket information available within the industry and represent all types of conveyor chain.
-Value: Develop a standardized and effective ability to identify chain products and chain condition that best fit the needs of member organizations and end user application requirements.
Conveyor Controls Committee
Chair: William Brungs, Honeywell Intelligrated
Vice-Chair: Daniel Barrera, Carter Intralogistics
-Purpose: Develop or identify documents which standardize the electrical controls terms and definitions, controls safety technology application (best practices), and recognizing preferred national and international controls standards of material handling equipment industry.
-Value: Develop material handling electrical controls consensus standards in order to educate, promote standards of excellence, and stand in solidarity.
Bulk Belt Systems and Emerging Technologies Committee
Chair: Todd Hollingsworth, Raw Resources, LLC
Vice-Chair: Andrew Jennings, Conveyor Dynamics, Inc
-Purpose: Look at new or emerging technologies to keep CEMA ahead of the curve and to begin formulating plans for future editions of Belt Conveyors for Bulk Materials.
-Value: Be involved in working on new or emerging technologies for the Belt Conveyor Industry and bring value to the Bulk Belt Systems Committee through engineering efforts.
Engineering Conference Committee/Section Reports

-Purpose: A wrap up of all meetings at the Conference, to include all reports and action items for each committee and/or section that reported.
-Value: Receive a summary of all reports and/or action items from all committees and/or sections that may affect work on other committees.
